Minor whites printing techniques are on par Ansel Adam, who he assisted. His beautiful infrared landscapes, black blacks and white whites show how masterful he is at the darkroom. Also a poet ,ill finish this post with a quote " a very receptive state of mind...not unlike a sheet of film itself - seemingly inert, yet so sensitive that a fraction of a second's exposure conceives a life in it. Biutiful
From the director of '21 grams' and 'babel' Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu is the story of Uxbal, a father of two who discovers he has only a few months to live. Set in the slums of Barcelona, Uxbal has to ensure that his children are safe after he goes. Their mother, a manic alcoholic, is unable to care for them so Uxbal does a strange variety of work to provide for his family such as using his gift of speaking to the dead and helping illegal immigrants find work. the story is a sad commentary on the human condition has a haunting beauty and visually is Beautiful.

Follow me down-UNKLE
I think this video is pure art, I literally find it intoxicating to watch and I am just wowed by the the mono/cibachrome style effects and aesthetic. I think photographers should find inspiration in a variety of different visuals. This song is taken from UNKLE’s fourth album Where Did The Night Fall and directed by by Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones

Elsinore
Photography duo Nick & Chloé have used Shakespeare’s tragedy 'Hamlet' as the inspiration for their photostory. Hamlet is portrayed as a lost prince in “a time of decay and abandon,” explains Nick & Chloé. Hamlet’s lonely expressions and pale skin, reflect the somber and nostalgic mood. Objects placed in the vacant office like the veal’s feet and the butterfly represent death and decay.Elsinore
On the road...
When I look at these images by Mike Brodie aka the Polaroid Kidd ,I just want to pack a red napsack and go freight train hopping with Sal Pardise and Dean Moriarty. The exhibition called 'Ridin dirty face' which included many more photos ,was shown in August 2007 in the pins and needles gallery in San Franciso.
His subjects are train-hoppers, vagabonds, squatters and hobos who all part of the dying bohemian spirit

plastic fantastic
While scouring the chairty shops yesterday, i came across a 'Browie' vecta camera for nothing (who throws this stuff out). I am not sure if it works but looks in decent nick. it only has one shutter speed and an F stop of 14 so this is an artistic adventure rather than testing technical abilities. having said that, it took me two hours to open it so maybe its more difficult than it looks.

No one lives here anymore.
The location of this shoot was in an abandoned cottage. It was like the residents had just up and left. A cigarette package was resting on an armchair, framed family photos all covered in veil of dust. What struck me the most was a little porcelain sign above the door which said "God bless all those who dwell in this house". where did they go?

A Well Respected Man
This shoot was inspired by the Kinks-a well respected man. He is conservative and serious. His stillness masks the fact that his carefully constructed veneer is about to crack.
The Hunger for beauty
For visual imagery alone, the hunger is one of the most striking films . Its surreal and intoxicating, the ultimate vampire flick. Miriam (Catherine Deneuve) is an ancient Egyptian vampire and John Blaylock is her immortal lover, until he starts to decay at a unstoppable rate. He seeks the help of the talented doctor Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon). As She looks into Johns case, it leads her closer to the dangerous Miriam, who see sarah as a replacement for her withering lover. seriously beautiful stuff .
